Minister O’Donovan welcomes €235,000 in CLÁR funding for Limerick Communities

Dec 1, 2016

The Minister for Tourism and Sport, Patrick O’Donovan TD has this morning welcomed the news from Michael Ring TD, Minister of State for Regional Economic Development, that €235,000 has been allocated to 29 Limerick projects under CLÁR 2016. The funding announced this morning is part of the €8.24 million in funding allocated to 651 projects across the country today.

The funding for these Limerick communities comes under the CLÁR Safety package for Schools/Community Facilities. CLÁR is a targeted investment programme that aims to provide funding for small infrastructural projects in rural areas.

“This funding is very welcome and will address very important issues such as safety at schools and community centres and the development of amenities for young people in rural areas. This funding will support these local communities as they look to ensure their children are safe and have recreational amenities available to them in their own communities”.
